Bam Björling is the president of the Kvinnoforum Group which comprises of Kvinnoforum Foundation and the Gender Management Institute (corporation). Bam Björling initiated Kvinnoforum in 1988 as an independent professional frontier organisation focused on gender and empowerment based development. The head-office is based in Stockholm with 60 employees and 300 experts. Kvinnoforum works both locally and internationally.

- Advocates for social priority issues
- Initiates and implement projects for change
- Offers experts services through consultancy with a gender-perspective; e.g. economy, health, leadership, project-management, micro-entrepreneurship, local organisation, institution building etc.
Mrs Björling has headed projects in more than 70 countries and been a gender expert for organisations such as Council of Europe, Inter-American Bank, Asia-Europe Foundation, UNFPA, UNIFEM, UNDP. She has been advisor to the Swedish government as well as national and international business-sector both locally and internationally.
Bam Björling is a sociologist by training and has worked as a scientific researcher at Uppsala University and the Karolinska Institute. Her work history includes Ministry for social affairs, Swedish Red Cross, Council of Europe, and being a board-member in scientific committees and national and international companies. She has also been assigned in several national and international governmental committees. Moreover, she has published approximately 20 books and anthologies, and 30 reports and scientific papers.
Born in a small village Bergsjö, in the northern part of Sweden. Bam Björling is married to Dr Sten Lindeberg and they have three grown-up children. They undertake many gender assignments together.
Bam Börling is engaged in issues about the balance and co-operation between civil society, governments and business-sector and is a board member in CIVICUS which focus's on strategies for building a social, economic and ecologically sustainable society.
