Coomi Kapoor

Coomi Kapoor is the resident editor at Indian Express and President of the Indian Women’s Press Corps.

She studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Bombay and went on to pursue a BSc from the Royal Institute of Science. She graduated in 1968 and later attained an MSc in Journalism from Boston University.

Coomi began her career as a reporter for Motherland, and later went on to be Chief Reporter and Special Correspondent at Indian Express. After working at India Today, Sunday Mail, Indian Post, and Illustrated Weekly, Coomi returned to Indian Express, Delhi in 1994 as the resident editor. She has also been a stringer for The Times, London and a columnist for the Star in Malaysia.

As one of India’s most respected editors, Coomi has been responsible for shaping contemporary journalism in India today contemporary journalism in India today.
