Eve Pollard has had a prolific
journalistic career which began in 1967 at Honey magazine where
she was the fashion editor. Her career in the media has been wide-ranging
and outstanding. She was the second female editor of a national newspaper
in this country editing the Sunday Mirror from 1987-1991 and
the Sunday Express from 1991-1994.
In 1985 she was launch editor-in-chief of Elle magazine
in the US and edited Sunday magazine for the News of the
World and You magazine for the Mail on Sunday.
She has also worked in television as features editor of
TV-am 1982-1983, and devised the series Frocks-on-the-Box for
ITV during the 1980’s. Throughout her career she has appeared regularly
on TV and radio.
Eve is the Honorary President and founder member of Women
in Journalism. She is the vice-Chair of WOW (Wellbeing of
Women), an established charity of 40 years, supporting obstetric
and gynaecology advances.
She has been a member of the Competition Commission’s
Newspaper Takeover Panel since 2001 and since 1995 she has been a Visiting
Fellow at Bournemouth University. Previously she was a member of the English
Tourism Council.
Eve’s publications include Jackie, a biography
of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (1971); she has jointly written four
novels, Splash (1995); Best of Enemies (1996); Double
Trouble (1997); Unfinished Business (1998).
Eve is currently writing a novel for publishers Harper
