| Judith Kendra is Publishing Director of the Rider list, an imprint of Random House UK (one of Britain's largest trade publishers). Rider publishes books on international issues, history, biography, current affairs, psychology, spirituality, travel, and occasional fiction. Authors include the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond
Tutu, Viktor Frankl, M Scott Peck, Sogyal Rinpoche and Clarissa Estes,
among many others.
In the early 90s, Judith worked for the highly respected NGO, Minority
Rights Group, editing their books and papers which they publish on the
plight of minority groups worldwide (the Saami, the Kurds, Australian
Aborigines etc). At this time, she also wrote two books for children:
'The Tibetans' and 'Chinese Migrations', which were published by Wayland.
Prior to this she was Commissioning Editor at Grafton Books (part of
the HarperCollins Group) where she edited fiction and non-fiction, primarily
for women.
Judith has always loved to travel, particularly in Asia, and when she
was 35 she took a year out to learn more about the Hindu and Buddhist
cultures of India, Nepal and South-East Asia. This interest in other people's
beliefs has been a theme throughout her life, ever since she received
an MA in Social Anthropology from Edinburgh University. |
