Baroness Julia Neuberger

Born on 27th February 1950, Baroness Julia Neuberger was educated at South Hampstead High School for Girls. She later went on to pursue university studies at Newnham College, Cambridge and Leo Baeck College, London. Julia is former Chief Executive of the Kings Fund – an independent charitable foundation aiming to improve health, especially in London.

Previously, Julia has been the Chair of Camden and Islington CHS NHS Trust. She was a visiting fellow, as part of the Harkness Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, and visiting fellow at the Kings Fund Institute.

From 1977- 1989 Julia was a Rabbi at South London Liberal Synagogue. Julia is vice-president of the United Nations Association, and has a number of honorary doctorates. Her public positions include Civil Service Commissioner, Member of the Committee on Standards in Public Life, and Chair of the Patients’ Association. Julia is also a trustee of the British Council, the Imperial War Museum and the former Runnymede Trust, amongst others. She is patron of the North London Hospice, the Prisoners of Conscience Appeal Fund and the Memorial Arts Charity.
