Liz Jackson

Liz Jackson is the Founder and Managing Director of Great Guns Marketing. Liz is truly an inspirational figure and her story is extraordinary. With no advanced educational background, she launched her telemarketing company over six years ago with the help of The Prince’s Trust, where she received £1000 grant and a loan of £4,000. Today, Great Guns Marketing is turning over in excess of £2.5 million, growing at a rate of over 40% per annum and has 7 regional branches across UK and Ireland. For Liz especially, this is an amazing achievement as she is totally blind and only 31 years of age.

The year Liz started her business, she lost her sight completely as a result of the eye disorder Retinitis Pigmentosa. However, this didn’t stop her from pursuing her dreams. In September 2003, Liz won the Women Mean Business Award. Sponsored by T Mobile and The Sunday Express this is Britain’s biggest award dedicated to women who have achieved success running their own businesses. In 2004 Great Guns Marketing won the South East regional Customer Focus Award in the National Business Awards. Referred to by Chancellor Gordon Brown as the business Oscars, the Customer Focus Award goes to the company that best demonstrates that the client is at the heart of everything they do.

Liz is a regular inspirational speaker at conferences and dinners across the UK inspiring others to achieve their dreams by telling her remarkable story. In the 2007 New Years Honours, Liz received an MBE for her services to business. On 13th February 2007, Liz was presented with her MBE by The Queen in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

In 2003 HRH The Prince of Wales said of Liz “I cannot begin to tell you how proud and pleased I am that Elizabeth Jackson has won this year’s Women Mean Business Awards. Elizabeth is an inspiration to young business people everywhere and I do send her my warmest congratulations.”

Overview of Great Guns Marketing: Great Guns Marketing helps its clients to grow their businesses by making high quality sales appointments with interested prospects, in their target markets. We do this by telephoning prospects, engaging them in conversation, and establishing interest in the clients’ product or service. Established in 1998, Great Guns Marketing has a very substantial track record of success with many small, medium and large companies bringing real, measurable, benefits through our unique partnership approach with client and telemarketer working as a team to create business growth. Our regional centres place our telemarketers at the heart of the business community across the UK and Ireland.
