Marigold Verity Marigold Verity

Marigold Verity has a deep love of musical expression and is a charismatic fun loving person, with a depth of vision. Born with a spiritual attunement to nature and empathy for the inner world of other people, she has a natural ability to create environments and harmony.

Initially, Marigold trained and worked as a speech therapist, and studied singing. She pursued her musical career, singing with professional groups, and at Saddlers Wells. After a serious illness, and with the demands of a young family, she took up the harp and discovering its healing qualities, developed the art of songs at the harp – Singing Harplines. She has given recitals in many countries around the world.

Deeply influenced by the late Pir Vilayat Khan and the Sufi teachings, Marigold ran The Sufi Centre in London during the seventies.

For many years she was the Honorary Secretary and Convenor of the London branch of the Clarsach Society. In that capacity she pioneered teaching workshops for children and adults to study the harp.

Now based in Dorset, Marigold is a freelance harpist and teacher. She teaches harp at Sherborne Girls School and is on the committee of the Dorset Opera. This provides an opportunity for young people to join in a production with experienced professionals. Marigold continues with her storytelling and is about to publish a series of children’s books with symbolic reference to our inner journey through life.
