| Meheroo Jussawalla was born on 14th July 1923 in Secuderabad,
India. She now lives in Hawaii where she is currently an emerita research
fellow in telecommunications and economics, working at the East West Center
in Honolulu.
Whilst studying her BA in economics and history at Madras University,
Meheroo studied for the Royal Academy of Music piano exams and finished
the LRSM. For her BA degree she obtained a gold medal for topping the
list of economics students and went on to study her master's. After marriage
and two children, Meheroo obtained a fellowship to study in the USA. She
pursued her doctorate in economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
The East West Center in Honolulu is a federally funded think tank established
by an act of the US Congress forty years ago. Meheroo joined the center
in 1978 and has published fifteen books and one hundred papers in refereed
trade journals, all dealing with the economics of information and telecommunications
technology as it is used in Asia and the Pacific. |
