| Petra Dobmeier was born on 15th September 1965 in Bavaria,
Germany. She is the Co-Founder and Vice President of AGROPARK, an international
renewable energy association. Founded in 2003 in France, its primary goal
is the realization of projects associated with climate change and renewable
energies.
AGROPARK is also involved in various solar programmes, including solar
electricity for lighting, e-scooter transport, and solar electricity for
IT and TV access. The home electricity kit is part of the 'Petra House’,
where children can explore their own ability to live in an ecological
and economic way. In 2006, in the French Riviera, La Petite Ferme
[the Euro Farm] family will operate a renewable energy and food programme,
which will be open to the public.
Petra’s prior experience was in the medical field marketing for
numerous multinational companies. In 1996 she participated in the ‘Solar
Brazil’ project, to enable access to potable drinking water and
purification systems on Brazilian farms, to empower young people to make
use of their resources through solar power.
For 20 years she has lived with her partner, a creative engineer and
they have traveled the world, working on technological and ecological
innovations in countries throughout Africa, Europe and South America.
Petra is never without her screwdrivers in her beauty case – and
is always ready to use them.
In 2008, they will move to China to set up a high-tech AGROPARK and Petra
is in the process of learning Chinese, to add to her German, French and
English. Her interests include music from Central and South America –
reminding her of the times she lived in Florida and South America. |
