Ruth Uglow

Ruth Uglow was born on 1st October 1975. She undertook her Masters of Fine Art (Printmaking) at the Royal College of Art, London, from 1998-2000 and was awarded a one-year assistantship at the Royal College of Art to continue making work.

Ruth went on to teach Fine Art at St Paul's Boy School, Barnes, London, and later decided to concentrate solely on studio practice and furthering her art career. She has exhibited her work widely throughout London and has won numerous prizes and awards. In 2003 she received the Royal Over-seas League Travel Scholarship and spent 9 weeks research in Southern Africa, which resulted in a show in 2004 at the Jerwood Space, London. In 2005 Ruth was awarded artist in residence at Malaspina Printmaking Society, Vancouver, Canada. Following residency, she received an award at Plain Arts Museum, Fargo, North Dakota. Ruth lives and works in London and continues to exhibit both in London and internationally.
