Shernaz Vakil is the Managing Director of Dai-ichi Karkaria since 1992.

Shernaz attained a BA in Psychology from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai, and an MA in Industrial Psychology .She later went on to study an MBA in Armstrong, Berkley, in the USA.

Dai-ichi has four decades of experience in the manufacture of Oilfield Chemicals, amongst other chemical products. The company has played a pioneering role in the development and growth of the Specialty Chemical industry in India. It has access to state-of-the art technology through technical collaboration with Dai-ichi Kogyo Seiyaku of Japan.

In 1998, the Company commissioned a new facility to manufacture bulk actives, advanced intermediates and pharmaceutical specialties. The new research and development centre, pilot plant and multi-purpose manufacturing facility are located at Hyderabad, India.
